Homemade pancakes are not only easy to make, they are a healthy snack and a good choice that's easy to clean up afterwards. Here are some tips and the recipe to a fuss free pan cake experience.
You will need:
Ingredients: Morinaga Hotcake mix (1 packet of 150g) + 1 egg + 100ml milk (fresh milk or soy) *for those who prefer no milk, you can use 100g water instead. If you prefer eggless pancake, please add 140ml of milk or water instead.
Tips:
1. Get a small whisk from Daiso that will make it easy for you to beat the egg and milk/water together before mixing in the Hotcake Mix. Daiso even has battery operated whisks now! (refer to pic attached) Beat till you get a good even consistency.
2. Use a good non stick frying pan so that you do not require any oil/butter to make your pancakes. A healthier choice and easier to clean up afterwards.
3. Heat your frying pan on medium fire till it is hot, then lower the fire to low before pouring your pancake mix in. Make smaller pancakes for a start as they are easier to flip. When little bubbles start bubbing in the solution on the pan, it means the pancake is well cooked on one side so you may flip it. Wait for another 2-3mins for the rest of the pancake to be cooked, then flip it and remove from pan.
4. If you can't finish all your hot cakes in one sitting, refrigerate them and heat them up in the microwave later when about to consume. For refrigerated pancakes to retain their moisture, always use microwave clear wrap over the bowl/plate.
