How did you celebrate this day of love & friendship this year?
Me and Kyo went out in our Pinky Bests and spent a lovely day surprising my best friend with a Friendship Day visit in Shenton Way where was everywhere!!!
Then we surprised Kyo's Daddy by arranging for a wonderful dinner @home (pizza & chicken wings from Pastamania complemented by wholemeal wraps & our favorite Boost juices) with an improvised Tim Tam ice-cream cake for dessert.
Kyo's daddy arranged for us to watch Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Love Never Dies" as our V-day after dinner entertainment. It was interesting, but I still prefer the music of the Phantom of the Opera better.
DID YOU KNOW
On V-day, the Japanese girls use this day to 告白 (confess their love) by making a big & special chocolate for the man they love. If the man accepts their affections, he then prepares a lavish gift for the girl on White Day (14th March) to profess his love for her.
hence my choice of homemade Tim Tam ice-cream cake here's the recipe for those who want to try this decadent delight I used Mint Tim Tams and Haagan Daaz Caramel Biscuit ice-cream. The combination was fantalicious!!!
1. Hammer & crush those Tim Tams. 4 Tim Tams will be enough to create the base of crumbs for a disposable aluminum round tray of diameter 18cm.
2. Pour the Tim Tam bits into the tray and press them flat & tight with the metal cake server.
3. Thaw your choice of ice-cream then scoop out with the metal cake server and put onto the crumbs. Wait for ice-cream to melt before evening out.
4. Add your own choice of M&Ms, whip cream etc for decoration. Then put the whole cake in the freezer.
