Heart In Hand Atelier - Therapeutic finger art

What better to keep the kids busy than learning a new art?
The kids have long admired the beautiful dreamy creations on the FB wall of one of favorite girlfriends,
so I ordered a starter kit which was delivered to our SHN hotel and my dear friend arranged a private lesson on Friday afternoon to teach the girls some basics of Pastel Nagomi Art to get them started.
The class was conducted over Zoom, and was quite intensive, but my girls totally enjoyed it.
I think what really appealed to them was that they were fully in control of their art since they were using their fingers.
The myriad of colors were also a big pull factor as kids just LOVE colors!
Did I mention that this art requires the use of Erasers??? Including a kneadable eraser?? Which kid doesn't love Erasers?? The kneadable eraser is just a super plus. They can't stop kneading it.
there are also some very beautiful transparent stencils created by our teacher that the children find so easy to work with.
The end product speaks for itself:
These bookmarks took the girls 90mins to create but they were so proud of their creations, we had to make more the following day for them to practise what they had learnt.
Viola! Here are our creations made this afternoon as part of practicing what was learnt yesterday. Kids are going to post this back to their friends in Sydney as cards. 😍
