Sweetlings - Review

Sunday Activity with the girls was to test out this Sweetling toy Mirai had received for her last birthday. 

This is the decorating turntable that is supposed to make it easier for you to put the fake frosting on the cupcakes and icecream to create your own personalized cupcake/ice-cream. 

Batteries are required for the turntable which comes with a place to hold the fake 100s & 1000s as well as the frosting sticks and a glitter sprinkler. 

Press a button to activate the turntable. But frankly it was not easy to squeeze the tubes of frosting onto the plastic at all. I ended up having to help the girls to do it and had very sore fingers from all the squeezing.... 

Finally the frosting is sort of done and Mirai can start decorating with the cute stickers that came with the set. 

TADAH! and Mirai's ice cream is sort of done... except she then realizes she had put the face on the wrong side! So please check the arms and feet of the ice-cream character to avoid making the same mistake! 

Kyo is more meticulous with her cupcake, painstakingly dabbing and touching the frosting throughout the process. If your kid likes to do this, the fake frosting will stick to their fingers and flake off into little dry bits on your floor, so be prepared to clean up later with a vacuum. 

Time for the fake 100s & 1000s! These little plastic balls are small and dangerous for younger kids so make sure your kids are old enough not to ingest these before you play with this toy! The fake frosting is also non-edible so really this toy is not suitable for kids 6 and below. 

Time for GLITTER!!! For parents who hate mess and glitter, this toy is not suitable for you. The glitter is easy enough to vacuum up though, and kids are absolutely thrilled by the glitter sprinkler part of this toy so you will have to decide if those smiles are worth it. 

You basically press and turn the pink cupcake sprinkler cap for the glitter to descend... 

No sweetling is unhappy when it is their turn for the glitter shower...

Mirai's Sweetling even has a sling bag, earphones and cherry in her head. 

Kyo's sweetling has a cherry, a mobile phone, an owl and cherry in her head. 

and my Sweetling has glasses, ribbon and music in her sides. Super cute!!! 

All in all, a fun toy but definitely needs to be played under supervision if you don't want a whirlwind of a mess afterwards. Keeps kids busy for around an hour.
