We chanced upon our first Splatter print at Robinsons Centrepoint Children's department when I was pregnant and we were shopping around for the finishing touches to our baby's nursery. We were instantly captivated and impressed by the colorful lively characters depicted by the artist. We researched about Splatter and were elated to find out it was an Australian artist based in Canberra - it just made it more compelling for us to support the Aussie artist... We felt so much at home with the paintings we bought 2 prints from Robinson, the one with the Chinese Zodiac (cleverly depicted English style) and the one with the native Aussie animals (i.e. Koala, Kangaroo, Cockatoo etc) with Uluru in the background.
We then contacted a local dealer requesting to see some originals. The 2 originals that took our breath away when we saw them live was "Christopher's Ark" and "Under the Sea". A twist on Noah's Ark, Christopher's Ark had animals seldom depicted in other pictures of the popular bible story: koalas, pandas, sharks, crocodiles... Of course they were saved too which is why they are not extinct to this day.
Today the 2 prints and Christopher's Ark decorates our baby's nursery and she loves to look at them beautiful paintings on the walls.
The other smaller original we left in out master bedroom and she loves to marvel at the whales, dolphins and the little diver, whenever she looks up at the wall.
I would highly recommend Splatter to anyone who's looking to brighten up a room with some creativity and color. For more details, visit the official splatter website at www.splatter.biz
